What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is becoming more popular as more and more research has been done to show how effective it is in treating anxiety related issues. Through using Hypnosis along with CBT and talking therapy anxiety is greatly reduced, therefore very early in treatment you feel more calm and relaxed.

During sessions we begin with an explanation of the brain, which will help you understand why you feel the way you do, and what you can do to create change. Together we work to enable you to come up with the solution to your particular problem.

Everyone has past events in life they would rather not talk about,  however during Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, we DO NOT have to revisit them. Past experiences have been and gone. We cannot change them, but we can move on from them.

What should I expect at the Initial Consultation

During the Initial Consultation, We will discuss what you would like to achieve from hypnotherapy, along with a simple health questionnaire. You will be given an MP3  Relaxation to take home and listen to each night before sleep, this will help with the process

Will I be doing things I do not want to do?

Not at all. I use Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, and all sessions are positive and uplifting, we do not talk about negative events past or present unless the client wishes to do so. If they do want to discuss something it will be done at the beginning of our session.

Trance

During trance you are fully in control. Trance is when the two minds come together and focus on the same thing, then we have access to the subconscious. We are able to think about positive thoughts. Because you feel relaxed,  this helps break down barriers, which cause the unwanted behaviours and patterns in the brain enabling you to build new positive behaviours and patterns. Which ultimately will help life to becomes more manageable and easier to deal with. Making it much easier to be happier and be more in control, and able to cope better.

How many Sessions will I need?

Each individual is different. You may only need one or two relaxation sessions, providing there are no other underlying issues. But on average treatment usually takes between 6-12 sessions.

Each session lasts approximately  50 minutes.
