  • What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a modern day technique,  which treats anxiety related issues. Through using Hypnosis  anxiety is reduced, therefore making you feel calm and relaxed. During sessions we begin with an explanation of the brain, which will help you understand why you feel the way you do, and what you can change. We  will work together and you will be able to come up with the solution to your particular problem.

Everyone has past traumas or events they would rather not talk about,  however during Solution Focused Hypnotherapy,  we do not have to revisit them. Past experiences have been and gone and we cannot change it, but we can move on it.

  • What should I expect at the Initial Consultation

During the Initial Consultation, We will discuss what you would like to achieve from hypnotherapy, along with a simple health questionnaire.

You will be given an MP3  Relaxation to take home and listen to each night before sleep, this will help with the process.

  • Will I be doing things I do not want to do?

Treatment is gentle and relaxing, often described as being similar to day dreaming. Trance is a relaxed state during which the two minds come together and focus on the same thing which makes it easy to be open to suggestion to change things. These suggestions are designed to help with unwanted behaviours and thought patterns.

During trance you are fully in control, and able to think about positive thoughts. Because you feel relaxed,  this will help break down barriers, which cause the unwanted behaviours and patterns in the brain. This process makes it easier for you to build new positive behaviours and patterns, which will enable life to becomes more manageable and easier to deal with. Life will then be happier and you will be more in control, and able to cope better.

  • How many Sessions will I need?

Each individual is different.  You may only need one or two relaxation sessions, providing  there are no other underlying issues. But on average treatment usually takes between 6-12 sessions. Phobias and Fears take 4 sessions, whereas smoking cessation takes 1 intense 2 hour session.

Each session lasts approximately  50 minutes.
